In February 2016, the building on the corner of Market Square and Henthamerstraat in Den Bosch, The Netherlands collapsed. Following this, a lengthy process began to create a new building that fits seamlessly into the existing streetscape.
The search for the history of the location and numerous discussions with the local council and architectural authorities resulted in a building with a restrained attitude and composition, presenting a contemporary image within a historical context.
The architect has been following StoneCycling since its inception. By incorporating our sustainable stone strips into the design, more than 750kg of waste was upcycled, preserving the same amount of raw materials in the ground.
