45 CM WasteBasedBrick®
Together we selected our Mushroom WasteBasedBrick® as the starting point for this special project, to be able to create a colour and texture nuance. We changed the recipe of the brick slightly to create a gradient of the brick. Then we worked with three types of finishes: Raw, Punched and Sliced.
Additionally, Ex Interiors challenged us to create the longest WasteBasedBrick® we’ve produced so far. With its 45 centimetre length, we were able to contribute a unique long & lean brick slip to a lively and warm sustainable interior.
Using the Mushroom WasteBasedBrick® as a base, we were able to create an efficient production process. The brick bond then allowed the masons to use every little bit of the Mushroom, creating almost no new waste during the construction process.
Queen Maxima of The Netherlands officially opened the office in November 2018, together with CEO Volkert Engelsman. We are extremely proud to be part of such an ambitious project together with one of the leading specialists in circular and sustainable building.
Together we managed to upcycle 4600 kilos of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.
