This year, StoneCycling had the honour of designing the trophy of the “Lodewijk van der Grintenprijs”.

Lodewijk van der Grinten (8 April 1831 – 11 April 1895) was a Dutch pharmacist. He was the founder of Océ, which later became multinational.

Award for Entrepreneurs

Since 2010, the Lodewijk van der Grintenprijs has been awarded to entrepreneurs from the Dutch city of Venlo in the province of Limburg. Entrepreneurs are assessed on criteria such as entrepreneurship, an eye for sustainability and contribution to the Venlo society.

The winner of the 2016 edition is Jan Klerken (Scelta Mushrooms). In a sold-out Maaspoort Theatre, Mayor Antoin Scholten presented him with the coveted trophy, made of our sustainable WasteBasedBricks®.
