Introducing the CoolTile®
We develop and sell high-quality building materials from waste with reduced CO2 emissions. With this, we not only drastically reduce the extraction and use of raw materials and reduce the enormous CO2 emissions of the sector, but we also prove that waste can be beautiful!
This paving stone consists of no less than 85% recycled materials.
This is special because the processing of approximately 20% of waste is usually possible for paving stones. This makes the CoolTile® the circular precursor and promising sustainable replacement for the standard ceramic or concrete tile that is now used for paving.
The municipality of Amsterdam and Ouder-Amstel are encouraging circular thinking and production in area development and public space to prevent further global warming.
Amsterdam aims to be the first 100% circular city in the world by 2050.
This is, of course, a gigantic task and that is why the city is joining forces with all seven city districts and with many local initiatives, market parties, knowledge institutions, and residents to realize this circular ambition.
For companies like us, this means we have a responsibility to focus on innovations that bring a circular economy closer to reality.
If our CoolTile® can actually meet all the requirements of the municipality of Amsterdam (Puccini) and Ouder-Amstel (LIOR) and they can subsequently be produced at a reasonable price, then the community will save an enormous amount of CO2 emissions when constructing or replacing roads.
Then it would also be possible to use these stones in De Nieuwe Kern (the area between Duivendrecht station, the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the A2, and the Amstel Business Park). That is why we have built a test section at the Strandvliet metro station to test the stones.
