Innovation in The Netherlands
KVK has been putting innovative entrepreneurs in the spotlight for the past 15 years and is reflecting on the innovation climate in the Netherlands.
The ranking gives a good picture of the innovative power of SMEs at the moment. The province of North Holland was best represented with 21 companies, followed by North Brabant with 17 and South Holland with 16 companies.
After the ICT sector (18 entries), most innovations came from the food- and agricultural sector (16) and the creative industry (15).
All innovations have been assessed on the impact on the industry and society, originality, availability, realised turnover, and growth potential. There is deliberately no (monetary) prize associated with the KVK Innovation Top 100 because the power of the initiative is to show what Dutch SMEs are capable of.
The announcement of the 15th Chamber of Commerce Innovation Top 100 took place online, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander. Afterwards, the King spoke to several small and medium-sized businesses about innovation and entrepreneurship in times of crisis and the impact of the pandemic on their companies.
We thank you again for your continuous support and belief in our mission!
